On July 12, 2012 Robert Kaplinsky and Melissa Canham presented at the UCLA Mathematics Project’s Getting to the Core with CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction) conference to build participants’ knowledge of the Common Core State Standards’ Standards for Mathematical Practice.  During the presentation, participants learned how the Standards for Mathematical Practice came about as well as broke each standard down to analyze how they connect to Cognitively Guided Instruction.
